Morning View - U.S. Courthouse

The 32-story neo-classical U.S. Courthouse on Centre Street was finished in 1936. It was designed by architect Cass Gilbert, who also created the nearby Woolworth Tower, the George Washington Bridge, and many other Gotham landmarks. The Courthouse was built over the infamous Five Points section of lower Manhattan, home to the notorious Irish gangs that once ruled that part of the city.
