Read Between The Coloring Lines

The Archdiocese of New York has released a coloring book for preschoolers in which an angel warns: "If a child and an adult happen to be alone, someone should know where they are, and the door should be open or have a big window in it."

Note the male (priest?) figure waving a fey hand at the young boy. Is the Archdiocese actually warning kids about pedophile priests? That seems to be the implication. Or maybe it's just the nelly ones that kids need to worry about. And what's that kid doing, anyway? Delivering a baby?

The Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests (SNAP) says, "We welcome any innovation, especially from an institution that has such a horrific track record." I'd like to get Cardinal Egan to autograph a copy.

UPDATE: Blogger has repaired their photo glitch. You may now embiggen.
