NEW YORK: HRC Launches Attack On Anti-Gay NY Sen. Shirley Huntley

As part of their Campaign For NY Marriage the Human Rights Campaign is sending out mailers attacking NY Sen. Shirley Huntley (D-Queens) who voted against same-sex marriage last year. Last month Huntley sent out a mailer of her own claiming that she'd received death threats from gay marriage supporters. "There are forces that have invaded our community who: Have threatened Shirley Huntley, our hardworking state Senator; Have contributed more than $100,000 from outside the district to her opponent; Care about one issue only -- gay marriage."

The HRC's mailer addresses the latest scandal enveloping Huntley in which it was revealed that state grant checks meant to fund public school workshops were being mailed to Huntley's home in her daughter's name. The Human Rights Campaign reports that it has raised more than $100K to fund their assaults on anti-gay New York politicians.
