TUESDAY: Montreal Pride To Hold Vigil Outside Russian Consulate

Montreal Pride announces:
Montréal Pride will hold a peaceful candlelight vigil to denounce the Russian law against “gay propaganda” and to sensitize the public about the deteriorating LGBT human rights situation in Russia. The vigil will be held on Tuesday, August 13 from 8:30 to 9:30 pm in front of the Russian consulate, located at 3655 de la Musée in Montréal. The event has already attracted great interest on social media sites. Gilbert Baker, creator of the rainbow flag, will be present for the vigil. He and Éric Pineault, president of Montréal Pride, will speak briefly at 9 pm to denounce the Russian law and to share a message of support for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in Russia.
Their Facebook event page is here. Montreal Pride week starts tomorrow.
