NOM Commits $500K To Fight NJ Marriage

And by NOM, we mean the Vatican.
Same-sex marriage opponents in Trenton vowed to fight the latest move, with the National Organization for Marriage saying it was ready to spend up to $500,000 to back state lawmakers who will fight the measure. “The media is reporting that gay marriage is sure to pass through the Legislature, but we heard the same false story in 2009 and 2010. The people of New Jersey can and will stop this bill,” said NOM President Brian Brown.
NOM Exposed reacts:
Not sure what NOM's promise is here. They may be fast-tracking a public campaign (robocalls, radio ads, etc) in order to stop a bill that could come as soon as next month. Or they may be putting all of their eggs in a post-vote retributive strategy like we've seen in New York, where they will focus on "punishing" those lawmakers (especially those Republican lawmakers) who vote for equality.
